Net Zero Commitment



Castlemead believe that businesses have an important role to play in preserving and protecting the environment and Castlemead is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2030.



To do this, we have signed up and committed to: Reducing Scope 1 & 2 Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 46% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline, in line with 1.5% Science Based Target, Measuring and reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions, Achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions before 2050. We have set this commitment by signing up to The Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)



Publicly communicating our commitment to reduce emissions is a key step in aligning to net zero



The Science Based Targets initiative is a coalition established in 2015 which aims to enable companies to set emission reduction targets in line with leading climate science. It is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute and WWF, ratified by Paris Agreement



Castlemead is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2030. As this is a long timeframe, so to make a positive impact straight away, we will endevour to become carbon neutral through the purchase of carbon credits. These carbon credits or offsets help finance clean energy projects in emerging countries through. We will make public which accredited carbon credits we use once we have thoroughly investigated the most appropriate.



As part of our commitment to Net Zero, Castlemead will publish on an annual basis our score, and what steps as a business and individuals we are undertaking to achieve this.



We are one of the first Independent Brokers in the UK to sign up for SBTi Net Zero and we believe in supporting our customers with achieving their Net Zero targets.
